Sean started his IT career in 1983 with BP Oil in Australia and subsequently moved to BP Exploration in the London. In 1990, Sean joined the Wellington based Bank of New Zealand Network Engineering team. Another stint in the UK saw Sean join the Royal Bank of Scotland in 1994. Based in London, the role involved both Telecommunications and WAN/LAN solution development. On returning to New Zealand, Sean joined ANZ Bank NZ where he spent 10 years in a number of infrastructure management roles which varied from 24 x 7 operations management, establishing a new Auckland based technology team and latterly returning to Wellington for the integration of ANZ and National Bank business systems.
Sean joined the Ministry of Social Development in 2006 to lead the new Infrastructure and Services team and take on the challenge of developing and delivering the MSD Infrastructure Roadmap.
